The demand for dependable inspections, recorded compliance, and evidence-based controls on food safety is increasing in India’s food sector. Food manufacturers, processors, exporters, warehouses, caterers, and other food businesses must have written procedures, but that is not enough on its own. They have to prove more and more that processes, facilities, products, and controls fulfill defined requirements. This is where competent inspection bodies come into play. ISO 17020 accreditation is a widely accepted way to show that an inspection body is competent, impartial, and consistently operated.
