WRAP Certification levels
Having a WRAP
Certification helps an organization to show potential concern about the ethical
and responsible business dedicated to the standards. It also demonstrates that
your organization obeys all the rules and regulations of the law by treating
your workers with responsibilities, dignity, and even caution about the impact
of the operations on the environment.
Although the world
became small after Globalisation; the supply chain of apparel is becoming wider
and wider. To ensure integrity and efficiency in the supply chain WRAP
Certification can act as the key element.
In other
words, WRAP is a necessary stepping stone for those interested in exporting to
USA-based buyers. The WRAP Certification has 3 levels of Certification to
monitor the assessment of the business to which the audit indicates full
compliance and management commitment to the WRAP Principles as required.
LEVEL 1- PLATINUM
(valid for 2
years)
Platinum WRAP
Certifications reward the factory to ensure that the organization has
demonstrated full compliance with 12 WRAP Principles for a validity of 2 years.
Platinum facilities must strongly pass every audit with no corrective action
plans (CAP) or observations and maintain a continuous certification process to
facilitate continuous compliance with the Regulations of the Standard with no
gaps between certification periods.

LEVEL 2- GOLD
(valid for 1
year)
Facilitates to the issue that factories comply with WRAP certified guidelines; production is
awarded to demonstrate principles of the standard during the first or
subsequent inspections of an audit. This certificate is valid from the date of
issue of the certificate, not from the date of inspection.
LEVEL 3- SILVER
(valid for 6
months)
WRAP may
issue or facilitate Silver Certification to an organization if an audit finds
only the need with sustainable compliance of WRAP Principles if only identifies
least or minor non-compliances in policies and procedures. These can be solved
with adequate training for the employees of an organization. There must not be
any non-compliance (including child labor; serious health, safety, or
environmental issues; forced or bonded labor, or harassment or abuse of
employees at the workplace) and must demonstrate with a proper and safe working
environment to employees. WRAP certified organization ensures that the
employees achieve at least minimum wages, premiums of overtime as prescribed by
the law.
Organizations must
request in writing seeking Silver certificates from WRAP's headquarters,
submitting a corrective action plan (CAP) that involves any proof of rectifying
along with the request. If a facility has demonstrated difficulty in achieving
full compliance or has other risk factors, the WRAP Review Board may also
recommend a Silver certificate that may prevent it from sustaining compliance
for the full duration of a Gold certificate.
Conclusion:
WRAP takes a
management system to implement social compliance programs within their supply
chains. WRAP believes we have a truly wonderful program to monitors and
certifies compliance with the 12 WRAP Principles, which are based on the rule
of law within each country. WRAP-certified factories are less likely to have
problems because all facilities need to actively engage in the process
themselves and maintain effective management systems. The main three reasons
for tapping into the WRAP program are:
-Systemic &
Collaborative Approach
-Cost-Effective
Expertise
-Credibility &
Dependability
Finally, WRAP
strives to be a responsive and effective commence of the standard to help
ensure that factories are safe places to work with the collaboration of all
buyers and other stakeholders.
